Allow forms to override "From" address

Usage If checked, forms in WordPress (e.g. created by Contact Forms 7) are allowed to override the "From" address.

In this case, your emails will still be "submitted" to Microsoft Graph by the (default) "From" Microsoft 365 User Mailbox, but will appear to the recipient as sent from the email address specified by the form.

Important A form may specify any mail address, e.g. a Shared Mailbox, a Distribution List or a regular User Mailbox. However, the (default) "From" Microsoft 365 User Mailbox must have delegated permissions to send from the mail account that "owns" the email address that the form specified, or else an error will occur and the email will not be sent.

Also, the plugin performs a check, whether the domain of the email address specified by the form matches the domain of the (default) "From" email address. If the domains do not match, the plugin will ignore the email address specified by the form.

Please note This option will always override any other configuration option:

  • (Default) From
  • Shared Mailbox
  • Send as / On behalf of.

Default value False
