Use client-side redirect

Usage Check this option if you wish to apply one of the following use cases:

  • Integrate your WordPress website in Microsoft Teams and enable support for "silent" authentication (see this article for instructions).
  • Add a custom "Sign in with Microsoft" button anywhere e.g. in your site's menu, header or footer (see this article for instructions).
  • Briefly display a "loading" icon as shown below when a user is redirected to Microsoft and optionally customize that template (see this article for instructions).

Please note Redirecting a user to Microsoft to authenticate using a client-side redirect (and displaying a "loading" icon) was up and till WPO365 version 32.0 the de facto standard. However, it appeared that displaying a "loading" icon significantly increased the risk of sending users into an infinite loop, bouncing between your website and Microsoft's login page. This is especially true, when a website has implemented some form of server-side or external caching.
