Usage The Application (Client) Secret is a secret password that goes hand in hand with the Application (Client) ID (see https://docs.wpo365.com/article/33-azure-ad-application-id for details) that you most likely created previously for Single Sign-on to work correctly.
Important Starting with version 18.0 you can (and should) configure the Authorization Code User Flow (at least when you selected the OpenID Connect SSO protocol). For this flow it is mandatory to configure an Application (Client) Secret.
To create an Application (Client) Secret is also mandatory if you intend to integrate with any of the Office 365 Services e.g. SharePoint Online, Yammer and / or Microsoft Graph. Capabilities offered by the plugin that would require an Application secret are:
- Synchronizing users from Azure AD to WordPress
- Synchronizing user profile fields incl. profile images (avatar)
- Role based access control based on Azure AD group membership(s)
- Any of the following Pintra-Fx Apps: Documents, Content by Search, Employee Directory
Related Read the Getting started guide for Integration https://docs.wpo365.com/article/23-integration for instructions on how to generate an Application secret and integrate WordPress with Office 365 services such as SharePoint Online, Yammer and Microsoft Graph.
